Bill began his professional photography career at the age of 16, covering news and sports for his weekly hometown newspaper, The Chronicle, in Barton, Vermont. While attending the University of Maine he was a staff photographer for the daily campus newspaper and served as its photo editor for two years, as well as freelancing for other local newspapers. His first photography award came his way while in college when Eastern Basketball magazine presented him with Photo of the Year.
Bill graduated with bachelor’s degrees in both Journalism and Broadcasting. His career for the next twenty years was primarily as a broadcast photojournalist in Maine and Pennsylvania where he earned numerous awards for his photography including a regional Emmy. His love for still photography led him to establishing Bill Mason Images in 2004 where he specializes in portrait and fashion photography. That year he earned a fashion award from the National Press Photographers Association. As part of his business, Bill shoots a wide range of projects from editorial content for newspapers and magazines to landscapes. He has a studio in Pottstown, PA where he shoots the majority of his portrait and fashion work. |
